Intro:


Hindustani Classical Music is also termed as Northern Classical Music or Shastriya Sangeet.

It is an ancient musical form of India that emerged from a cultural synthesis of the Vedic chant tradition and traditional Persian music (Kaufmann, 1965).

The two main Elements of Hindustani music are Raga and Tala. Raga is based on Swara while Tala Provides rhythmic beats. The central notions in this music are Ragas, which are described as musical compositions capable of inducing specific moods or emotions.
